.this is magnolia virginiana, the native magnolia at the beach road garden , lake garda, may 2010. this was a little stick given to me as a present from gary koeler, director of the arnold arboretum at harvard. it seems to be overjoyed to be alive and is sharing some great beauty with the world now.
